Carolina Rojas (she/her/ella)

M.A. in Counselling Psychology
B.A. Psychology
Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC)

A designation of BC Association of Clinical Counsellors

I am a Latina therapist offering counselling in both Spanish and English. With years of experience in educational, public, and community-based settings, I provide culturally responsive, trauma-informed care that honours your full story — including all the intersecting layers that shape who you are.

As a proud 2SLGBTQIA+ ally, I work in solidarity with trans, migrant, and sex worker communities. My approach is anti-oppressive and anti-racist, grounded in the belief that mental health is deeply connected to justice, power, and lived experience.

In our work together, I’ll hold space with compassion, curiosity, and respect — always centering your wisdom, your voice, and your strength. My practice is relational and collaborative, rooted in the idea that healing happens in connection. Therapy is space where you can feel safe to invite sadness, humour, uncertainty and playfulness!

Whether you're navigating trauma, burnout, identity shifts, or life transitions, therapy can offer a place to pause and reconnect with what matters most. If you're feeling curious, hesitant or ready to begin, I invite you to reach out. I’d be honoured to walk with you.

Taking the first step can feel big — but you don’t have to do it alone. We offer a free 20-minute consultation so you can ask questions, get a feel for us, and see if this space feels right for you.

No pressure, no commitment — just a chance to connect.

Services

Individual Counselling

Sometimes we just need somewhere to land — to slow down, make sense of our feelings, and find our way back to ourselves. Individual therapy is a space where all of you is welcome: the grief, the anger, the hope, the contradictions. Together, we’ll explore the layers that shape your experience — culture, identity, trauma, family, systems — and move at a pace that feels safe and attuned. This is your space to reconnect with your strength, your voice, and what matters most to you

Relationship Counselling

Not all relationships fit the mould of “couples,” and yet they’re just as meaningful. Whether you’re sharing space, work, or history — as friends, siblings, business partners, roommates, or chosen family — you deserve a space to tend to what’s been hard and strengthen what still matters. In relationship counselling, we create room for honesty, repair, and deeper understanding, always mindful of the larger contexts that shape how we relate to one another.

Couples Counselling

Relationships can be beautiful, hard, and everything in between. In couples counselling, we hold space for the real moments — the disconnections, the longings, the things that are hard to say out loud. We support partners of all genders and constellations in showing up with honesty, building trust, and communicating in ways that feel respectful and clear. Whether you're navigating change or just wanting to feel closer again, we’ll move together with care, curiosity, and cultural humility.

Clinical Supervision

Supervision is a space to be held while you hold others. I offer relational, trauma‑informed, and anti‑oppressive supervision for emerging and experienced clinicians who want to deepen their practice with curiosity, care, and integrity. Together, we explore the clinical, cultural, and systemic layers that shape your work. Whether you're looking for mentorship, reflection, or simply a space to exhale, supervision can be a place of connection, clarity, and growth.

EMDR Therapy

When past experiences continue to live in the body — as fear, disconnection, or overwhelm — EMDR can offer a path toward integration and relief. We use EMDR to gently process trauma and memories that feel stuck, especially for clients with complex, developmental, or culturally rooted trauma. This work unfolds with deep respect for your pace and your nervous system, and we stay close to what feels grounding and supportive as you heal.

Areas of Expertise & Training

Therapy is never a one-size-fits-all process. We know that each person comes with unique histories, identities, and needs, which is why we draw on a broad range of approaches and trainings. Our work is shaped by evidence-based therapies, trauma-informed practices, and lived experience, while always keeping relationships, culture, and community at the center.

Below you’ll find both the areas we specialize in and the therapeutic approaches we’ve trained in — so you can get a sense of how we might work together and what tools we bring into the room.

Trainings & Approaches

Over the years, we’ve trained in a wide range of approaches so we can meet you where you are, and shape the work to fit your needs.

Some of the approaches I draw from include: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): Helping you live in line with your values, even when life feels hard. Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT): Building tools for emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and healthy relationships. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing): Supporting the brain’s natural healing process to reprocess trauma. Gottman Method: Evidence-based strategies for strengthening couples and relationships. Narrative Therapy: Centering your story and exploring new ways to relate to it. Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT): Highlighting your strengths and focusing on what’s possible. Motivational Interviewing: Supporting change in a way that respects your pace and autonomy. Feminist, Multicultural & Culturally Sensitive Approaches: Holding space for identity, migration, and systemic context. Person-Centered & Humanistic Therapy: Grounding the work in empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard. Relational & Trauma-Focused Work: Understanding that healing happens in connection, and always at your pace. Strength-Based Practice: Seeing and building on what you already carry within you. We weave these together depending on your needs, always keeping our work trauma-informed, relational, and culturally aware.

What we work with

Everyone’s story is different, and we know that healing doesn’t happen in a straight line.

I work with a wide range of concerns and lived experiences, always centering safety, compassion, and cultural awareness. Trauma & PTSD: When the past feels too close, we help you find steadier ground. Anxiety, Stress & Mood: Tools to calm the nervous system and lift the heaviness. Relationships & Infidelity: Repair patterns, rebuild trust, and reconnect. Family & Life Transitions: Navigate intergenerational tension, migration, identity, and change. Grief & Loss: Space to honour what’s gone and carry it with less isolation. Addiction & Coping Skills: Compassionate support for change, without shame. Chronic Illness & Pain: Care for the emotional load of living in a body that hurts. Body Image & Self-Esteem: Soften the inner critic and build respect for your body. LGBTQ+ Affirming care for queer and trans communities. Open Relationships, Non- Monogamy & Kink-Allied: Non-judgmental support for consensual, authentic connection. Racial & Cultural Identity: Explore who you are in context — with dignity and care. Domestic & Intimate Partner Violence (Survivors): Safety, validation, and trauma-informed support. Caregivers: Hold what you carry, without carrying it alone. Neurodivergence (ADHD & Autism): Support for understanding, acceptance, and navigating a world that isn’t always built for you. Men’s Issues & Healthy Masculinities: A space to unpack old scripts and build new ways of being a man—grounded in care, accountability, and connection. Women’s Experiences (menopause, pregnancy & postpartum): Care for the unique transitions, pressures, and changes in women’s lives. Whatever you’re carrying, you don’t have to carry it alone. These are some of the areas we focus on, but your story is always welcome here.
